May brings a special kind of energy to our school community.
It’s a season filled with reflection, celebration, growth, and transition. As we move toward graduation and into summer, we’re taking time to focus on two meaningful practices from Positive Education: Savoring and Perseverance.
In the busyness of everyday life, it can be easy to move quickly from one moment to the next without fully taking in all the beauty, growth, and connection happening around us. This month invites us to slow down just enough to truly notice it all.

Savoring the Moments That Matter
Savoring means pausing to appreciate the moments that make this school year meaningful.

The excitement of a child learning something new.
The friendships formed in classrooms and on playgrounds.
The conversations at drop-off and pickup.
The laughter, milestones, artwork, songs, celebrations, and everyday moments that become treasured memories over time.
As parents, caregivers, educators, and community members, we all play a role in creating these experiences for children. When we slow down and truly notice them, we help children learn the importance of gratitude, joy, and connection.
As we reflect on Teacher Appreciation Week last week, we are especially grateful for the partnership between families and educators that helps our children feel supported, encouraged, and loved each day.
To our teachers and staff, thank you for the patience, care, creativity, and heart you pour into your classrooms and relationships every day.
And to our families, thank you for the many ways you support our school community, whether through kind words, thoughtful gestures, encouragement, or simply trusting us to be part of your child’s journey. Your partnership means more than you know.

Perseverance in the Final Stretch
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, perseverance reminds us to stay grounded and intentional.
Not by doing more, but by remaining present in what matters most.
There are still important moments ahead, graduations, celebrations, milestones, and transitions into new classrooms and new adventures. Perseverance during this season means continuing to show up with care, patience, and encouragement for one another and for our children.
Children learn perseverance by watching the adults around them. They see it in the way we encourage growth, navigate challenges, celebrate progress, and continue moving forward together.

Our Call to Action for May
As a community, let’s take time this month to:
- Pause each day and notice something worth remembering
- Celebrate the growth of our children, families, and community
- Be fully present in these final moments of the school year
- Move through this season with intention as we prepare for graduation and summer
May is more than the ending of a school year. It is a chance to reflect on how much we’ve grown together.

Let’s close out this Positive Education journey feeling grounded, grateful, connected, and proud of all we’ve shared this year, carrying those moments with us into what’s next. 💛
