We are MAD about Science and became scientists this past week! The children and teachers were busy with LOTS of experiments as well as science activities, games, and art.
Here are some of the fun experiments we did that can do at home!
Stretchy Slime: Pour one cup of glue into a bowl. Then add 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Feel free to add 3 drops of food coloring. Mix well. Next, add 1 tablespoon of contact lens solution. Mix again. Continue to add a tablespoon of contact lens solutions and mix until you get a nice consistency.
Dancing Raisins: Pour 7-up or Sprite into a glass cup and add raisins. See what happens next! That simple!!!
Homemade Moon Sand: This is the easiest recipe to make! All you need is flour and oil. You can add food coloring too. Moon sand is moldable, but crumbles easily, is ready to be re-shaped, and doesn’t dry out- perfect for littles who are developing hand strength.
Some of the other fun experiments we made were DIY bouncy balls, ice painting, unpoppable bubbles and oobleck.
Be sure to come back next week as this is our LAST month of Summer Camp! The camp weeks will be as follows: Camp Farming Friends, Camp Art & Music Sensation and Camp Fiesta.
Lastly, BBCLC will be CLOSED on the following dates:
8/28-9/1 Teacher In-Service week
9/4 Labor Day
Fall School Year begins on Tuesday, 9/5
