Yee-haw! We sure had fun down on the farm! We learned all about what animals you might find on the farm, jobs on the farm, healthy food choices, painting with vegetables, making cow masks, tractor bowling and even dressing like a farmer.
Some of the other fun things that happened this week were, we harvested the garden and ate right from it. Also, we made homemade butter!
All of these fun activities were easy to do and encourage you to try them at home. You might not have a garden and that’s ok! Buy a variety of vegetables and have a fun taste-testing experiment. You and your child can even make a yummy salad together to go with dinner.
Try making homemade butter with your children. All you need is heavy whipping cream, a glass jar and lots of arm muscle.
You can also plants seeds in a Ziploc bag (or a glass jar) and watch them grow. Observe daily with your children and ask them questions!
Lastly, Daisy, Cassie and Abigail came to our centers from Maryland Therapeutic Riding in Crownsville and we got to learn all about taking care of them. Did you know they like to eat vines, leaves, weeds and hay? Also, they need clean water, love shade and love being around family & friends. Be sure to check out MTR as they help people learn new things about communication and understanding feelings.
Be sure to come back next week as there’s only TWO camp weeks left!!!
