For the last week in April, we focused on Affirmations. We shared with the teachers some affirmations that can be added to their daily routine and wanted to share some with you for you and your family as well!

Morning Affirmations:

  1. I am important
  2. Today is going to be a good day
  3. The world needs me
  4. Today I choose happiness
  5. I believe in myself
  6. Today is a fresh start
  7. Today I will do my best

Bedtime Affirmations:

  1. Today I did my very best, now my mind is set to rest.
  2. I close my eyes with a beating heart, tomorrow brings a fresh start.
  3. I am loved so wide and deep, that in peace, I can sleep.
  4. My body gave its all today, and I know everything will be okay.
  5. I send my love to those in need, and with that, my mind is freed.
  6. I am grateful for all that I have and realize how fortunate I am.
  7. I have the power to conquer my fear and knowing that, my mind is clear.

Here are ways to help children with adding Positive Affirmations into their day.

  1. Together, draw and write positive words/pictures on post-it notes and put them on your mirror in the bathroom or on your fridge.
  2. Have painting sessions where they can draw affirmations. Frame it and hang it up on a wall.
  3. Give your child a journal and they can write/draw affirmations. This is something everyone can do at home as well!
  4. Take out 5 minutes every day to sit together and repeat your affirmations.
  5. Remind your children of the affirmations they wrote or drew in relevant situations, so that they pick up the habit of practicing them.

Adding affirmations (and positive phrases) into your daily routine can benefit you in many ways. They can help by overcoming self-sabotage and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often and believe them, you can start to make positive changes.
