Today, we are excited to introduce you to the incredible women who guide BBCLC with vision, compassion, and a deep commitment to our community.
AliceAnne Loftus – Founder

AliceAnne Loftus is the founder of Bright Beginning, Inc., an award-winning early childhood education program in Maryland. For more than two decades, she has led with a deep commitment to play-based learning, whole-child development, and strong family partnerships. Under her leadership, Bright Beginning has become known for its nurturing environment, exceptional staff, and dedication to helping children flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. As a lifelong learner and passionate advocate for early education, AliceAnne continues to elevate the standard of excellence in the field while supporting families and educators with intention, compassion, and clarity.
Fun Fact: AliceAnne founded BBCLC just 10 days before giving birth to her first child.
Aubrey Edwards – CEO

Aubrey Edwards is the CEO of Bright Beginning Children’s Learning Center where she had been a dedicated leader since the center opened in 2004. With 25 years of experience in early childhood education, she is committed to creating nurturing, high-quality learning environments and strong partnerships with families and staff. Aubrey continually expands her expertise through ongoing professional development and has earned certifications in Teacher Certification, Positive Education, Coaching & Mentoring, Director of Operations. She is passionate about supporting educators and ensuring BBCLC’s Mission, Vision, and Values are reflected in every classroom. Aubrey resides in Glen Burnie with her two sons, and they enjoy spending time outdoors, trying new experiences, and exploring local restaurants together.

Whitney Carr – Site Director

Whitney Carr has been a dedicated member of the Bright Beginning team for the past 13 years. She holds an AAS in Business Management, 24 additional credits in Early Childhood Education, and 90 hours in Preschool/Infant/School Age certification. Whitney is also certified in Medication Administration and CPR & First Aid. She is passionate about creating a warm, engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun. Whitney believes that strong partnerships with families are essential to helping children truly flourish, and she works closely with parents to ensure every child shines. Whitney resides in Crownsville with her husband, son, and two dogs. She enjoys traveling, walking, and spending beautiful days on the Severn River. Her son attended and graduated from BBCLC and is now in fifth grade.

Beverly Beverly– Site Director

Brianna Beverly earned her Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from AACC, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Towson University, and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in classroom climate and management from Gratz College. She taught fourth grade for nine years in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and holds CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration certifications. Brianna also completed a 90-hour Early Childhood Development certification at AACC. She has been with BBCLC since 2014. Brianna has always had a natural instinct to guide, care for, and teach others. She is from Anne Arundel County and resides in Crownsville with her husband, two teenage children, and their dog. Brianna enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching her children compete in soccer, lacrosse, and track.
